Last Saturday, the Star Hub TVB Awards 2013 capped off a night to remember as the industry’s biggest names gathered at the Marina Bay Sands Grand Theatre to honour the best in TVB programming.

Broadcasted ‘live’ on E City (Star Hub TV Channel 111/825) for the first time, the Awards saw a total of 31 trophies presented across 20 categories.

Compared with such stylistically on-the-nose works as “Exiled” and “Vengeance,” To’s craft here is nearly invisible, but action, timing, character chemistry and psychological intrigue are all synched to perfection.

It’s first-rate entertainment that deserves a healthy life at festivals and on video platforms.
