Vista weather gadget not updating
The error message I keep getting is ‘ No support for local towns and cities anymore?What’s interesting is, when I enter locations that I am sure would be available such as ‘Redmond, WA’, I get the ‘cannot connect to service’ error too.To display local information, move your mouse over the weather gadget, and click on the wrench icon.
As in Windows Vista, the Windows Gadgets in Windows 7 are mini-applications built with Web technologies such as DHTML (Dynamic HTML), Java Script, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), and XML.
In fact, Windows Gadgets in Windows 7 are virtually identical to Windows Vista-based gadgets; Microsoft hasn't updated the underlying technology at all between the two Windows versions.
An attacker could even use a gadget to take complete control of your PC.
Although desktop gadgets are no longer officially supported by Microsoft, you can still bring them back to your Windows 10 PC using third-party apps.
Locate the weather gadget in the Gadget Gallery that Windows Vista just opened, and drag it to the sidebar.
